Ruby red in color. 14.1% ABV. Intriguing nose of red fruits, sage and forest floor. Medium body with exquisite acidity. Rich fruits with a streak of minerality. Cherry, cranberry, strawberry and earth on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. My first Pinot Noir from Freeman and there was much to like here. Best over the next year or so.

Dinner with Alva and Leo from Idealwines: Evidence of toasty oak use, thought it was a German Pinot. When it was revealed to be a new-world, was clear that it was a more traditional American maker. Pleasantly surprised by the restraint on this.

Comes across on the richer side in mid-2022, some out-of-balance elements starting to show. Still beautiful aromatics, great example of a mid-weight style from this region - just don't hold onto it much longer.

This is good! 👍 when pull, the ripe and bold red fruit initially present a harsh tasting note with high acidity and tannis. As the night goes with an hour of decant the potential start to reveal. Typical hint of PN such as flora, strawberry and honeysuckle... with a balance of acidity and alcohol and complex body structure. Even the oak complement the overall medium finish. Will get more
