  • Medium Ruby. Medium intensity in the nose. Blackcurrant, plum, raspberry, strawberry, white pepper, fennel, earth and smoke.
    Dry.
    Medium + acidity
    Medium soft ripe tannins
    Medium alcohol
    Medium body

Cherries, plum, black 'currant, white pepper, earth, cloves, smoke, forest floor,

    Medium + finish

This wine is of very good quality. It’s well balanced, the fruitsare well integrated and balanced by the alcohol level. Flavours from forest floor and smoke show development giving complexity to the wine. The wine does not have the long finish expected of an outstanding wine.

The wine is suitable for bottle ageing. It has enough primary fruit, with tertiary characteristics starting to show. Further tertiary characteristics may bring even more complexity. Acidity is present.

  • The wine was sampled thanks to Chris C who brought this in a lineup of wines against other French Bordeaux.

I want Start by saying that I love Gevrey Chamb's. This one is right up there on the second tier. My impressions .... Bright wine with young and some under-developed fruit. Mostly unoffensive, the wine is just flat but this might be due simply to its age being young. Underdeveloped fruits are the in mouth impressions. May need more time to form a better score. Just not sure this has the acidity to survive 5 more years.

  • Very nice eathy nose, crisp red cherries, hint of vegetal in the nose.. Taste is very tannic, hint of vegetal, tannins are riper than previous wine, finish is a bit harsh, wait 5 years, very very traditional!
