  • Nice nose of mineral, iodine, hint of black fruit... Nice light crisp, mineral, black fruit.

  • One of my favourite Priorats of all time, and the '04 is singing. It need a little while to open up, but a wide decanter helped bring out all the charms. It's balanced, deep, rich, indescribably seductive. Luxuriously layered and peppery, this is one of the classics. Exquisitely poised between tannin, sweet richness, acidity and minerality, it hides its power well - age has softened the harsher tannic edges of youth into a pure vinous poem. Blueberries, figs, prunes, carob, cracked black pepper, and just oodles of deliciousness. Long and demanding - it commands attention. At the same time, though, in spite of this power and intensity, it's also delicate and sensual. A brilliant wine and a great Priorat vintage.

  • What a beautiful wine. Medium in color with some bricking. Bright acidity with lots of minerality and leather notes with blackberry. The nose is quite expressive with old world notes. Quality throughout .

  • bottle opened 1 hour before diner. really dark wine that does not show sign of age. the nose is intense, powerful and complex. Some integrated toast notes, chocolate, cherry, spices. the palate is sweet, medium body+, great freshness for the style. from a pure tasting perspective, this wine is a bit too much for what I like, but it was a great companion to our food tonight (pork chop with roasted carrots). No hurry to drink.

  • decanted for an hour or 2 before heading to dinner....this performed very well and very nice mature wine although I did not think it a match for the l'Evangile from the same year. Not sure if it's the inherent quality of the wine or simply prefer nicely aged Right Bank grape profile. I think the latter for sure and possibly former. Still, this was very good and hardly rustic.
