Perfectly harmonious nose displaying decadent yellow fruit, apricot tar, yellow peach, crème bruless, a hint of botrytis, tea, lanoline and honey. Round, rich, harmonious, energetic, fresh, precise, decadent, hedonistic, opulent and complex, all in one. It reminds Kelly, a beautiful perfectly mature Sauternes. Incredible showing.

Third rendition of Avery Family Cellar Wine Dinner - Root day and '14 DRCs to the rescue! (Mirabelle restaurant, Washington D.C.): This bottle shows magnificently like the bottle drank earlier this year but even fresher. Harmonious nose displaying subtle yet incredibly sweet yellow fruits, fresh apricot, yellow peach, pineapple cooked with vanilla bean, honey, caramel, ginger, lanoline and light honey. Absolutely delicious palate, all in perfect harmony. The finish displays subtle round yellow fruits to die for. It gets better with air. Incredible complexity coming from ideal aging. Mind boggling.

The Second Avery Family Cellar Wine Dinner - Really old wines (The Grill Room at the Rosewood DC): Clear light honey color. Pop and pour, fresher than the last bottle, fresh apricot, golden delicious, a hint of lanoline and mineral. It reminds me a bit of Japanese plum wine. With air, it opens up beautifully, candied apricot, crème brulee, light honey, lanoline and mineral. Perfectly harmonious, elegant and silky, delicious subtle yellow fruit, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, and a lovely long finish. It gets better and better with air, becoming fresher and more precise. Remarkably fresh for a seventy plus year old wine. Stunning showing.

Avery Family Cellar Inaugural Wine Dinner - Really old wines (Eddie V's - Tysons Corner, VA): Brilliant medium gold color. I love old grave blancs so please have that in mind. Very unique medium expressive nose displaying welch's white grape juice, slightly oxidized apple peel, caramel, curry, kerosene and a hint of madeira. Medium concentration, relatively simply palate, good acidity and a medium finish. The complex nose is coming from the ideal cellaring. I am really liking the petrol and caramel driven mature grave blanc nose.
