  I liked this and the note immediately below describes it very well. Hallmarks of the producer and decent enough. '14 was tough but not that bad! Not decanted, improved in glass - next time open early and leave to stand in bottle in cellar for an hour or so. Drank before the 1967.

  Describing this '14 in one word: austerity. A wine that probably disappointed many people who uncorked it, maybe on important occasions in previous years, as both the olfactory sensations and the palate impact are muted and weakened by this vintage. Nevertheless, the identity of the producer is recognizable, as well as the ability of this wine to excel in the long term. It is appreciated for its cool composure that only hints at the more sinful notes of Nebbiolo: worth revisiting in a couple of years. Slightly dusty nose, with hints of red fruits and sour cherry. Austere yet elegant wine. Hints of leather and liquorice. Long finish with excellent freshness.

Un vino che probabilmente ha deluso tante persone che lo hanno stappato magari in occasioni importanti negli scorsi anni, le sensazioni sia olfattive che l'impatto con il palato sono soffuse e indebolite da questa annata. Si riconosce comunque l'identità del produttore e la capacità di questo vino di rendere al meglio nel lungo termine. Si fa apprezzare per questa sua algida compostezza che lascia solamente intravedere le note più peccaminose del nebbiolo: da riprovare almeno tra un paio di anni. Naso leggermente polveroso, con note di frutti rossi e ciliegia acida. Vino austero ma elegante. Accenni di cuoio e liquirizia. Finale lungo e dall'ottima freschezza.
