Wet leaves, decayed rose petals, red plum, nutmeg. Quite quick development of tertiary notes given its age on both nose and palate. Nice intensity, medium plus finish.

First tasting of bottles purchased at the cellar door around 3 years ago, and I’m so happy with how it’s coming along! Beautifully fruit forward, yet incredibly elegant, with pepper, and a huge length of flavour showing plums, dark berries, chocolate, herbs, and without the over-weighty style typical of South Australian Shiraz. Tannins are melting, acid is in support, showing this wine has another 10 years ahead of it, and I’m sure it will continue to give more and more over that time. Advise you to try one if you have in cellar, but definitely keep more back! A delicious wine.

A late addition to dinner, making it a Clare New Years Eve
Tasting it tonight reminds me of why it was one of the few I brought back with me
A refined (yes refined) shiraz, with screwcap keeping freshness under the red and black fruit and the black pepper finish

Meerea Park Benchmarking Masterclass - 19 November 2017 (Meerea Park Cellar Door): Biggest nose and profile in this line up of medium bodied shiraz. Too much raisin and prune in the mix for my liking. No flaws, just not my style.
