Very tight when popped but it really only took 30-60 minutes to form up. Leather, fig, lava rocks and cooked cherry on the nose. Elegant yet broad with heat eventually popping up. The tannin is focused yet coarse. It builds slowly. Strong acidity. Medium fruit depth. A nice leathery sense framing somewhat brooding fruits. Time is likely to bring more harmony but this comes off as open now. Consistent over two nights. Very nice though I sense this is not a top notch vintage for this wine. A solid one will do.

Being familiar with the course tannins often found in young Aglianico, this caught me by surprise with a silky, refined texture. The depth of flavors was captivating, with an interplay of leather, minerals, and sour cherry that only amplified with air. This bottle convinced me that these wines really deserve cellaring.

PNP. Dark red color. On nose, sour cherry, strawberry, tart cherry and leather. medium body, medium+ tannins, medium+ acidity and long finish. Flavor profile dryer on palate than nose suggested. At peak. 92+/-

Nothing wrong with this, but I was expecting a lot more. I mean, it’s Aglianico! Where are tannins, the tobacco and leather? Dark fruit predominate, but they are fast on the finish. Nothing much lasting here. An OK wine, but had so much better for the $$.
