Domaine Arnoux Lachaux changed style in 2014 but I feel 2015 was their turning point, the wines have gone from structured and oaky to a modern approach of gentle extraction, low new oak influence and floral. The Nuits Saint Georges is a blend of 7 parcels from 4 different village vineyards. Average 50 years old, 80% whole cluster with 15% new oak. This 2015 Nuits Saint Georges offers a fragrant nose of rose petal, fresh raspberry, ripe stemmy whole cluster scents and Nuits structure with Chambolle elegance (Lachaux style). (86/100)

P: LM, poss L, body; NICE frt fairly quickly met by an astringent pucker which does soften (& ult sweeten) by the LONG, puckerish, very, VERY finely tannic (yet with hints of swtness) finish. NEEDS until '21 (guessing), & if the frt holds will make its 10th without problem. My VG+/EXC- with potential for more. 16.5/20 (from cask) Jancis Robinson, 89-91 pts Burghound. [This vendor's $59.95 heads up the limited wine-searcher class.]

P: LM, poss Med, body; NICE frt QUICKLY met by a distinctly swtish astringency which slowly, SEAMLESSLY morphs ino a lONG, slightly tangy, very, VERY finely tannic finish with a DISTINCT note of swtness which should full emerge down the line. NEEDS into '21 (I'm guessing), then EASILY making its 10th. My VG+/EXC- with potential for some level of EXCEPTIONALLY? 16.5/20 (from cask) Jancis Robinson, 89-91 pts Burghound. [This vendor's $59.95 heads up the limited, but WILDLY varying early May 2018 wine-searcher class.]

Tasting at Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux (Vosne Romanee): From half bottle. Compared to the 2016 tank sample tasted earlier, this is clearly bigger and larger scaled. Loads of black cherry and noticeable tannic structure in the finish. I prefer the '16 now. These '15 village wines may take years to show well / typical.
