  • Agreed, this is currently really shut down, but after 1.5hrs in the decanter it started to open up and displayed a very nice, classic burgundy nose. The tannins are typical for Santenay a bit on the rustic side, but i quite liked this. Overall not super complex, but very sound.

  • {Bought on release, perfect fill, non_Diam cork} Well, this is shutting down! Lots of initial palate-saturating puckering tannins on acid for cheek palate. Excellent, excellent dark fruit, width/breadth seems quite good as well. At first quite dumb, but really blossomed with time. It was much more delicious and available a few years ago (see prior notes 2017, 2019). At 3.5 hours really great when given a chance to open. A Serious Wine even if it is only a villages. I'd open a bottle in 2-5 years.

  • Drinking really well, as most 15s are. Nose of cherry pie, some vanilla, a hint of earthy mushroom, gobs of homemade cranberry sauce. On the palate, these same aromas become amplified with a nice backbone of acidity and some very soft tannins. There's a really pleasant, silky, mouth-coating texture to the wine. Finish is very long and fruity, almost sweet (though it's not). No harming letting this go a few more years, but showing really well. Drink or hold.

  • Light red colour. Modest nose of earth and cherries. Soft fruit of garden berries. Light and elegant. Clean and nice pinot fruit. Ok lenght. Surprisingly nice pinot. Save up to two more years.

  • {2nd or 3rd bottle bought on release, perfect fill: PopNPour} Yum. Very pretty and (tonight) delicious red fruits, a few black thrown in too; very consistent from the nose to the palate - including the attack, mid-palate and finish. Spherical wine, in the sense nothing sticks out or is angular or is (figuratively) shouting at you for your attention. A great showing for this vineyard. Full marks and a buy if you can find it.
