  Update 1/24: beautiful herbal, floral, earthy, dusty, savory leather, dark, slightly sour cherry immediately at PnP, med+ body, best bottle of the case. Excellent balance. Shame on me for not waiting to open the others. This has blossomed into a beauty in its prime. This bottle had no hint of being past peak.
  
  Prior notes: early '21,,,Closed and lighter in style than I expected. Notably better after a full two days open with a layer of argon preservative. Lots of traditional sangiovese complexity emerged, leather, tobacco, earth. Update 12/2021: drinking beautifully on day 2 with highly perfumed nose of Italian herbs, savory, mushroom, dark cherry. Really delicious with this extra long decant. Bumped up the score as there is significantly more complexity emerging. Still plenty of acid so no hurry on the remaining bottles. Update 12/2022: No decant necessary as the cigar box leather tobacco earth notes are on full display at PnP. Delicious classic aged Sangiovese at peak. Based on the swift evolution and fading acid over the last year I’m planning to drink the remaining bottles within 9 months. Update 3/2023 seems to be fading and past peak, softer and less interesting than prior bottle especially with extended air.

  Very Good++/Excellent-
  This drank well on PnP. Perfectly ripe red and dark cherries with a hint on the nose of macerated cherries, some dusty earth and subtle dried herb. Only faint brett / dank notes would come in with air.

  Very pleasing: lovely integration of fruit with hint of cedar and stone, nice finish.
