This is the best Felsina regular CC I can remember. Fresh and lively, but with some deep fruit and leather notes. There is a mélange of some savory herb and spice note and a slight floral whiff. Not blocky like these wines can sometimes be, but more stolid than our go-to CCs from Radda. I think this vintage will go in the rotation.

Medium-deep ruby red in color. Full, fragrant & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of red cherries, strawberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes of violets, dried herbs, spices, anise, tar, minerals & hints of cedar & balsamic notes in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of sour red cherries, plums & strawberries with dried herbs, spices, earthiness & minerals. Lingering finish. Drinks well at present with decanting & extended airing but should develop further with additional aging. This Felsina appears to be richer & fuller than the 2020 vintage.

I had first tried this in December and while I liked it, wasn’t blown away. Tonight I am definitely enjoying this more. Better acidity than I noticed in the first bottle, so maybe this just needed a little time to pull itself together.

Decanted for two hours prior to consumption. Dark garnet purple red fruit nose. Slightly bitter black fruit is subdued out of the gate, leaning towards secondary flavors of tar, tobacco and leather. Tanninsare moderate and the finish lingers on. A decent entry-level cuvée.
