Totally consistent with RGCM Gananda's fine note. This wine is still developing, and I think that serving temperature (once it's got 3-4 years of rest - likely to be better) is likely to be paramount to the amount of enjoyment/complexity this might yield. HOLD. 14,5% abv. recommended
Tasted at the winery. Blackfruit and spice notes on the nose. Medium bodied showing a mix of black and red cherry upfront with very nice brightness and good spices and a smoked quality towards the back. However, this wine is even more structured and tannic than the Basarin. Tannins, tannins and more tannins simply overpower virtually everything from the backside on. Might need as many as four years for it to really start to integrate. That being said, it's no shock that these wines need time and generally aren't for early consumption. They will oftentimes reward extended patience handsomely. I felt there was a bit more brightness overall and a bit more fruit complexity to this wine then the Basarin, hence the slightly higher score. How this wine evolves will be key as there's really no drinking them young.
