  This was a good showing for this wine, as previous bottles from this case have shown a lot of VA on opening and taken a great deal of time to open up. This bottle was smooth as silk on opening, with very pretty resolved Nebbiolo character. The wine was light in body but expressive aromatically, with notes of black pepper, rose petals and tar accenting the straightforward and understated fruit. A pretty wine that went down well with the Piave.
