A bit too gentle and round at first. Over a few days, developed layers of floral, dark but not too sweet fruit, pepper notes. Certainly not a simplistic effort. Eschews the explosiveness of traditional Australian Syrah (Shiraz) but carries the particular sense of place of the wind-beaten, more temperate, Margaret River Valley in the Southwest

2014 Leeuwin Estate Art Series Shiraz was elegant and well-balanced. The Margret River Shiraz was clear and deep ruby in colour without any sediments. Freshly unscrewed, aromas of blackberries, toast, vanilla and vanilla were up front, followed by black pepper, mint, iron rust and earth. The mouthfeel was dry, savoury, and medium-full-bodied, with medium-high level of balanced acidity and medium level of finely grained tannin. Flavours of bramble, stony minerality and beef stock were present in a rather long elegant finish.
Compared to my previous tasting in March 2019, the bramble fruit flavours were less expressive, while savoury and earthy tones developed.

Generous amounts of dark purple fruit, nutmeg, black pepper, underneath this is vanilla choc. Med weighted palate, the plum fruit continues with some spice, good acid. finishes big, tannic, spicey, vanilla, aniseed Excellent MR shiraz, drinking well now, but enough acid and fruit to suggest another 5 yrs with a some more layers developing

Bu en camping avec un repas de poulet au beurre. Excellent sur tout la ligne et aussi bon le lendemain. Beaucoup de fruit, avec une belle touche de pruneau confit. Beaucoup de matière, mais très digeste.
