  • This field blend is as exotic as previous comments suggest. After first opening there is a small bit of off-putting oxidation, but that minimizes after opening up (and mostly unnoticable on day 2.) There is a definite richness on the palate, but in contrast to a previous note the sneakiness lay in the imperceptible acidity that helps balance the unusual flavor palette. See other notes for their various descriptors. Held up well accompanying tofu and shrimp fried rice on night 1 and was nice all by itself on night 2. Very Good to Excellent, upgraded to Excellent for its exoticism.

  • This wine is stunning.

Pours a deep golden-honey color. The wine looks older than it is, and while its got a hint of oxidative notes, its not oxidized.

Its flipping beautiful. Apricot, figs, mint, nutmeg, and anise on the nose. On the palate, slightly caramel-y and round, but vibrant acid. Not bone dry, I think there’s some sneaky RS making is feel rounder than it would otherwise without making it taste sweet. Very concentrated. Salty finish. Just, wow.

  • Complex aromatics of lavender, dried apricot, peach, cinnamon and smoky mineral. It is full, unctuous and powerful, with intense sappy fruits, a heady feel and finish that is fresh and energetic.
