Bouquet started off with lemon rind, yellow melons and almonds. Palate showed ripe fruit, cream, some salinity and toasty oak. Good depth, lovely textures and a long finish, supported by a slap of acidity. This was more aligned to the Ponsot style that I am familiar with.

Morey Saint Denis & Bonne Mares: Tasted it side by side with vintage 2019. Vintage 2019 was more rounder and lower acidity. While 2015 show more acidity, longer finish and more complexity. Notes of pear, green apple and lemon. Tasted it blind, thought it was a Chardonnay. Very well make wine. For Mont Luisants, its the only climat that allow Aligote to be planted and its classified as a Premier Cru. Two notable wine maker are Ponsot and Dujac.

White focused lunch at Maison Dakota. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, yellow gold colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of toast oak and butter, ripe yellow melons, ripe citrus lemon, almond nut. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of rich citrus lemon, ripe yellow melon, almond nut, sweet cream. Long finish with very deep ripe lemon fruit and sweet oily cream. Lovely honeyed feels continue onto day 2. Very good quality. Certainly a very serious old vine Aligote. Can still age, but already in a window I think. Feels a bit older than 2015 actually if comparing against similar aged white Burg Chard.

93 pts
