Clearly a well made wine. What Chapoutier isn't?? !!
However, the alcohol was coming through after being opened 30 minutes. This really took away from the experience. First glass was soft and elegant. Much to my shock, next 2 glasses more aggressive with an alcoholic bite. No bueno! Hence score is a mix between 94 on first glass and 92 on next.
Kinda disappointed in this. Other vintages have been more ethereal. And so it is.

stunning - with lychee and dried pear notes, lean and vibrant minerality and along slow finish of honeysuckle and orange zest. Still very youthful, very grateful after 3 (!) bottles of oxed whites from 2004,5,and 6 from Chapoutier.

Ken's High Flying Hermitage (Ken's Castle): Notes of honeydew, honeysuckle and some lemon on the nose. Larger scaled on the palate with an almost chardonnay like finish. A lot to like here, but just didn't reach the heights of the SQN Tetmeque, Chapoutier Les Granits or Chapoutier Le Meal. Finished 4 out of 5 within a very strong lineup.
