Pop and pour. Menthol and strawberry on the nose; sour cherry, sweet red fruit, and something earthy on the palate. This is well into its tertiary phase, with no tannins to speak of and the fruit on the point of fading into oxidative flavors, but it is still well balanced and clean. This is one of the better aged 80s-vintage Bordeaux I have had.

Have you ever heard about Château Bouscaut ? No? Good thing, critics haven't heard about this one either! $51 FedExed overnite, dark color with little bricking. Fully resolved tannins and pungent nose. No decanting needed! Fiddy One bucks for an aged Boredaux. In my best impersonation of 80 years old Jewish woman from New York: it's a baaaagn!

Plenty of the classic goodness of aged old Bordeaux. Mature red currant, cedar, tobacco but loose-knit and pleasant drinking. Very nice.

drinking surprisingly good tonight. Medium bodied, still plenty of floral/fruit notes.
