The Super Glass Bowl (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Light golden color. PNP, drank a glass plus over 90 minutes. 80% Rousanne and 20% mix other allowed grapes. This has an intoxicating nose of stone fruits with peach and lychee; very complex, followed by pear, green apple, flowers, vivid wet river rock, citrus zest, lightly tropical with phases of fusil on pouring and repouring. The palate strikes me as medium-full bodied bordering on full bodied, it has some lift though it is deep, layered and spicy, with golden fruits and undertones of tropical fruit with an oily texture. The palate also adds in dried herbs, orange peel, and pepper with a suggestion of Grand Marnier on the slightly aggressive finish. There's a lot going on here for sure. I love this nose and the palate is not far behind. We had this at Beaucastel a few years ago and I think the palate was a little smoother than it was today, but that is being somewhat petty. A really fun wine, and always a treat - thanks Robert.

Blindtasted in a flight of six wines that were supposed to pair well with sole meunière. This was brought by me so only semi-blind but not with certainty identifies. Intense colour. Bruised yellow apples, marzipan and integrated oak. Overall a big wine. Great now and not yet closed down.

Two years since my last note. Has developed quite some since then. Green notes are gone and is replaced by tropical fruit, honey and floral notes.
Lovely. Not far away from vv Roussanne. In a very good drinking window right now. Drink within 0-2 years before shut down or wait 12-15 years.

Lots of mineral, residual honey. Not much zing but plenty of depth

Long Weekend Lake Michigan; 8/19/2022-8/22/2022 (Leelanau County, MI): A stunningly fine Beaucastel Blanc. It was bright, engaging and packed with flavor. Should have a great future but it’s super delish right now.
