58th TWIGS meeting (I & H's Place): Cork. 12.5% alc. Served blind. It's 'almost' burgundy in colour. Smells of dark berry fruits, plum, blueberry and florals. Light to mid-weight, with earthy, savoury flavours combining with stalks and forest floor notes. Light, gravelly, silty tannins provide a good structure on which the flavours ride. The group identified it as a young Burg.

Opened with the 2015. More red fruit, less oak notes than 2015, but not quite as much weight and complexity. Maybe a bit shut down

Rubino luminoso, vino fresco, frutti rossi e spezie. Bocca snella scattante, leggera sensazione verde in chiusura.

Qualitatively speaking, this is very similar to the 2015 version I had recently. This 2016 is a little lighter/more red-fruited. Drinking wonderfully.

Yummy wine that has great weight and pretty cherry fruits, fine tannins. Surprisingly good with Chinese food.
