Nice aromas in the glass, high alcohol and tannin levels initially however mellowed after some breathing. Some deep rich flavours but I reckon needs a bit more time.

Home made blackberry jam bubbling away on the stove. Blackberry bush, herbs. Heaps of tannin of the rugged yet pillowy tongue coating variety. I enjoyed this but it lacked the finish for higher points.

This is well made, no doubt.
Still, there is something with all d’Arenberg wines that makes them feel out of tune. Too much volume 11.

Second half better the next day. Smoother with flavour retained. Will put the rest away for another year and try again then.
