  • Kleur: Medium strogeel.

Colour: Medium straw yellow. Aroma / bouquet: Expressive and refined. The bouquet includes a wide range of aromas. From primary (citrus (lime), yellow tropical fruit (pineapple), stone fruit (peach)) to more secondary and riper aromas such as baguette, yeast, wax, candy cane and boiled cabbage. And all that in a beautiful balance. Taste / Aftertaste: BP14 Refined, soft acidity. Lush thick juice. Also on the palate a seriously complex and balanced wine with great aromatic richness. General / Potential: A special combination of power and refinement…. 50 + Color: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 13 + Taste / Aftertaste: 18 + General / potential: 9 = 95/100

  • Generously shared by Cos65, this was my first GC white burg outside Chablis. PnP into a Grassl Cru. Quite a lot of flinty reduction on the nose that really never blew away over about 4 hours. Some faint high quality barrel toast. Redolent of white peach, ripe pear, tangerine. Great amplitude and length. Fresh acidity, much more than a 16 Raveneau Vaillons alongside, make this an absolute keeper in the cellar. Didn’t catch the cork, but no signs of premox at all.

  • Came back to this a few times. Really needed air to open up as at first it was rather creamy with toast notes, with oak influence standing out. Later, this developed some intriguing depth on the note, more toast but with some flint notes and golden fruit notes. Lengthy finish. Impressive pairing with scallops.

  • The most reticent of the GCs today, but this has impeccable balance and raw material. Similar to the Pucelles but a half step up in intensity.
