PnP: Nose: a little balsamic vinegar, cherry pie filling, faint woody aroma. Taste: cherry jolly rancher, black plum skin, still some freshness with the acidity, tannins and oak give a cocoa taste and sensation.
It's quite nice but there isn't a lot of depth. Probably has a couple years left but seems unlikely that there is the stuffing to get any better. Drink now. The price is right.

On the nose, some black cherry, stewed plum, and a touch of menthol. There is a hint of dusty oak underneath.
On the palate, more black cherry and plum, some vanilla custard, and a bit of pepper. The tannins are fairly subdued and the finish is medium-long.
Overall, a good wine and a very good value for a Gran Reserva Rioja. There is still a good amount of primary fruit flavors -- the oak and the tertiary flavors have not taken over.

I may have waited a bit too long on this one as the acidity and tannins seem to have fallen off a bit leaving it a bit unbalanced. Still, tobacco, cassis and smoke all in medium plus intensity check those boxes and the medium plus finish rounds things out. So, very good and for $30 a great value.

Good QPR but a simple Rioja. Would not buy again.
