Closed under a Diam cork. Pretty, honey colored hue. The wine starts out quite angular and awkward, but this entirely dissipates in an hour, so give it a bit of time before passing judgement. Once mellowed, the aromas show quite a lot of lemon spritz, but it's more than just that... there's also a viscosity present even on the nose, perhaps it's lemon sprayed on some kind of delicious fat (salmon fat?). Quite rich aromas, and showing a strong drive of minerality as well. Fresh palate entry, and the thick body is immediately what's noticed for a Chablis... very impressive viscosity, almost like I have a light viscosity oil in my mouth. Lemon, minerals, and quite a bit of acid build as its held in the palate. The minerals are certainly the dominant note, though. Finish begins quite mellow, again dominated by minerality, but as this fades the acid overcomes the tongue in a very graceful way. I think this wine needs a little bit more time, as it's still a little angular in spots, but the stuffing, intensity, and texture are all very impressive for a Fourchaume.

Young with its elbows jutting out awkwardly but all the pieces are there to shine through the clumsy state. A bit of funk on the nose but deep and intriguing aromatics. Needs time.

This is very similar in style to the also fresh and mineral 2015, and I really like the purity and typicity in the aromas of ripe citrus and oyster shell. There is a lovely elegance and linearity on the palate, and even if the flavours are on the lighter side, the finish is precise and has good length. Well done. Liked it. Balanced. Elegant. It should evolve well.

In the bouquet some flowers and blossom. On the palate a quite focused wine with fresh white fruits and some minerals. Beautiful wine.
