This wine starts of muted on the nose, but with some air there are lovely evolving notes of blue berry liqueur, violets, spice and even some black pepper notes. Very classy nose and the freshness indicates the wine is holding something back at this point.
Medium bodied with plenty of structure and acidity. The mouthfeel is gorgeous and again suggests the wine needs further evolution in the bottle.
Overall a very elegant and well made wine with a bright future ahead of it.

Nose: This is a bit grumpy and fussy even after 3 1/2 hours of air. It takes some swirling, but there are rich tones of black cherries, raspberries, kirsch, bitter chocolate, violets, sweet tobacco, crushed rocks, and licorice.
Taste: The feel is Full bodied with refreshing, medium+ acidity and chewy, high tannins. The tannins are a bit stiff and brutish at the moment. The feel is well balanced and on the slicker side of Cornas with black cherries, raspberries, blackberries, bitter chocolate, maraschino cherries, violets, crushed rocks, licorice, and incense on the finish.
Overall: This can definitely benefit from another 5 years of aging. It only really came alive after 4 hours in the decanter. Still, this is a great value Cornas that is more in the modern camp without going too far.

Deep ruby in appearance- almost purple but quite.
