A big wine. A blend of syrah, petite sirah, grenache, and viogner, this is most definitely a blockbuster red wine, but there’s no denying the prominent presence of the viogner - it’s there in every taste. On day one, the viogner element was more prominent; on day two, the whole package is uplifted and super-appealing: the viogner is more in the background and is complementary of the syrah, and the tannins come across as extra-silky and polished. An excellent, unique red that should be drinking well for another decade or more.

Deep, lush and lively. A perfect end to the week with the grandangels. Three hours in the decanter loosened her up nicely. A fresh floral and herbal bouquet started things off, followed by dark fruit, guava, tar and mint on the palate. Medium to full bodied with a gutsy, satisfying finish. The alcohol (almost 15%) is well concealed. This has many years ahead of it. Drink now for its freshness and floral enchantment or through 2032. Worth Seeking Out.

Drank over two days. Delicious, accessible Sanguis with integrated body of dark fruit and spices. Refined and balanced and ready to go. One of the best from this great winery.

Blueberry, Chambord, slightest whiff of white pepper. A blending masterpiece. No hard edges, Cote Rotie with softness of Grenache and body/color of the Petite Sirah. Magical

Dense, beastly wine. Blueberry, burnt brisket, pepper and anise. Intense and seamless
