Violet pastille, olive, bacon fat, blackberry. Open, perfumed and savory aromas. Full bodied and rounded mid-palate, yet not extracted, a rich wine that is elegant and refined. Oak shows towards the finish, though tastefully integrated. Medium finish, more sweet than savory, though totally dry. Light tannins, medium-low acidity.
May integrate better with short term aging, but already delicious and not inhibited by structure.

I opened my first bottle bad in April, and found it very unlike the prior vintages I had ('15, '16, even '17 which itself wasn't as good as the two before). But now I just opened a second bottle and also found it very confusing. While I often struggle for words to describe wines I like, I'm struggling even harder to describe this concoction that I don't like at all. I'll save my third/last bottle for a few years (3+) just for kicks and grins to see if this ever comes around, but my guess is that this was a very off vintage for this one...
BTW -- I saw QuietLion's note -- he and I are typically aligned, so that makes this even more strange.
Pop and pour. Youthful and primary, the sweet citrus of the white-wine grapes are noticeable in the palate along with black and red fruit. Enjoyable and quite approachable now but will be better with some cellar time for integration.
