  • Definitely some power and early maturity here - slightly leathery dried dark fruits with a rusty, sooty background. A little angular, if not quite full on rustic. Nice.

  • Not a typical Beaujolais, but quite a lovely wine, it’s got a great depth of flavour and good acidity, dark raspberry and black cherry spectrum, good and will keep for some time yet

Bien bien.

  • 12.5% alcohol. Very short anonymous cork, but the quality is pretty good. Light ruby translucent colour.
Aromatic high pitched nose of red berries with some amylic notes and just a suggestion of forrest floor. Similarly balanced in the mouth with great purity of fruit (redcurrant mostly with a touch of tart cherry); the acidity is marked but not overdone.
While this is a textbook rendition of Beaujolais, I would have expected a bit more oomph and complexity in a MàV. Very enjoyable nevertheless.

  • Faded red/brown hue, sour cherry, green apple, very tight upon opening, about 30 min it opened up considerably, still a lot of tart fruit but has mellowed. Interested to see what happens overnight. Will buy more and put these away, the acidity appears to be there to warrent laying some down.
