Obvious oak on the nose and palate at first, there is dark fruit but also reddish cherryfruit there. Long, lithe and a bit too delicate for its oak treatment. Still a good wine with a positive evolution in the glass.

No in depth notes. Mature cherries, lush and smooth. Rosehip, leather. Moderate tannins and balanced acidity, feels very well made. Strikes me as very approachable, great normale for early consumption.

Really nice! This was much more powerful than I would have expected. Huge, complex flavours and I think this punches above its weight class. Long finish! I think another few years in the cellar would benefit this for sure, but don’t shy away from drinking this after a few hours in the decanter.

Here I found dried flowers with lifting minerals, sweet spices and masses of crushed cherries. On the palate, it displayed a soft and incredibly silky expression, showing fleshy cherry, sweet herbs and spices. The finish was long with a coating of gentle, fine tannins.

Tasting with Silvia Altare, daughter of legendary modern Barolo pioneer Elio Altare.
Vintage with terrible weather, frost during flowering and loads of rain in August. 60% down on production. Blend from rented vineyards. 4-5 days meceration, aged in used oak.
Light and accessible wine. Perfumed nose with roses, danish pastilles, raspberry, licorice and violets. Fresh feeling, sharp tannins, some bitterness in finish.
