Almost 6 years since the last note; still going very strong. Eucalyptus and menthol nose mingled with black fruit. Full-bodied taste with a still tannic finish. Very fine.

EEE 20230201 - Stevig rood; 2/1/2023-2/2/2023: Rood met bruine rand. In de neus kers, rozijn, teer, koffie, wat oxydatie, bosgrond en braam. In de mond kers, laurier, drogende tannines, bos, thee, mokka, koffie, gelaagd, power en ook wel elegantie.

A lot of green herbs in the bouquet, toasted oak and some stable flavors. On the palate juicy dark berries and fairly mild acidity, with round but still sticky tannin. Ready now, not really impressive at this moment, so maybe…..in a few years this wine has recovered from a dull stage, but I will not put any serious money on that.

Tannic, dusty and grippy it is! And that's what we should expect from Montus and Tannat. It definitely needs food and a certain amount of concentration.
