An absolutely superb wine. Still a good few years left in the bottle. A big densely concentrated Pinot Noir. Deep dark fruits. A stunning purple black colour in the glass. A very mouth filling wine, chocolate and earthy leather flavour's. The best Felton Road Bannockburn I have tasted. If you have a few left in the cellar, try n leave them another 4 or 5 years. You will not regret doing so. But you can enjoy this beauty like we did tonight.

Until about 2019 vintages onwards I always found the Bannockburn having a 'hard' element (for want of a better term) This 2017 I found the same, but less so, however after a couple of hours decant that character disappeared and became much more accessible and open. Very nice indeed if not as long and complex as I hoped. Will leave the others for another year or so.

Beautiful and bouquet with beautiful oak, smoke and toast. Same on the palate, minerals, red berries, herbs and spices and forest floor. Good acidity and round tannin which is still slightly sticky. The wine is in its early maturity stage and a great pleasure. 92 – 93

My first bottle of 'branded' NZ Pinot Noir if one can say so. It was a pleasant experience. The nose was very unique, I perceived it to be green very initially but that morphed into red fruits, strawberries, after that short moment. Tannins were imperceptible. Delicious on the palate, strawberries, red fruits and perhaps cola but without the fizz (very mildly). It was sweeter than I was expecting but no complaints. I would definitely reach for a glass/bottle again if opportunity arises. Certainly opened my eyes to NZ Pinot noir!

Lovely earthy notes and dark berry fruit. Some integrated spice from the oak and a hint of smokiness. Beautiful right now but no rush.
