NobleRottersSydney - <>A$40 blind (Fix, St James, Sydney): {375ml, screwcap, 10.5%} [DavidM] Standard sort of Noble One – apricot, vanilla, rich and coppery. Full weight and sweetness. A little more evolved than the 750ml we had back in July, which makes sense. Halves should be drunk now.

NobleRottersSydney - Henschke (Fix, St James, Sydney): {screwcap, 10.5%} [Glenn] Lusciously mature copper and caramel. Botrytis city. They spray it on the grapes to make this, don’t they? Honeyed richness on the palate, still with medium acidity and weight. Fully sweet, no doubt about that. Medium length finish. Noble One peaks between 5-10 years from vintage (these days!) I reckon; from a 750 this was perfectly at peak. Excellent.

Thick and syrupy with *just* enough acid to balance.
Excellent nose of honey, ginger in syrup and candied peel. Classic noble characteristics minus the slightly savoury note that you might expect from Sauternes. Slightly one dimensional, but very delicious and a pretty long finish. It will keep for ages but probably won't get much better with age.
