It is always fun to drink a bottle of Blue Mountain Pinot Noir. Cherry and hints of spice on the nose. On the palate, red cherries, rhubarb with traces of cloves and other exotic spices, supported by fine and soft tannis and fresh lively acidity, framed in a well balanced structure. The finish long and refreshing.
Opened the first bottle last spring. It was so awful, I didn’t write a note. Notes of cotton candy overwhelmed everything else.
I’ve always been a fan of this wine but there does seem to be bottle variation.
Second bottle: stained cork. But more typical Blue Mtn PN notes on the nose. Cherry cola candies.
On the palate, very very fine tannin, cherry cola and powdered sugar and the typical Blue Mtn oak flavours that I can’t quite describe. Long bright finish. Very nice but not as good as I’ve had from them.

Not as lively or complex as my last Pinot. Mixed/wild berry with much less earth. Yet, offering more by way of balance and refinement. These B.C. Pinot's continue to intrigue!
