  • It's a very good sign that I enjoyed this the warmer it got-almost so that I liked it best just below room temperature. It seemed closed initially, with a sort of stony silence, but got increasingly attractive and flavorful as the evening progressed. I'm still trying to learn the characteristics of this grape and what makes it different. Most other versions I've had have definitely been lighter and fruitier. This has a vein a tropical fruit and medium body with a pronounced minerally streak. Went well with a boneless pork chop done up with a pepper/herb rub and some lightly sweet butternut squash. 14% alcohol makes this a little more ponderous and a tad hotter than perhaps is warranted.
