Immediately stunning with mesmerizing aromas of ripe peach and honey. A little melon and citrus as well. Plentiful fruit but enough verve to keep it in balance.
Really hard to put down. A touch of petrol as well.

Scored as high as I did considering this is a friulano and just a stunning example. At first whiff it has the classic pretty, breezy honey-dipped floral and fresh stone fruit aromas, but quickly turns wild. A brooding petrol note (and I mean the in the best possible way) is reminiscent of Mosel Riesling but darker and less refined, like newly tapped oil shale. Buttered popcorn alternates with cotton candy and cream soda to tickle the inner child. The palate is fresh, vibrant, and creamy with gentle acidity (by white wine standards at least) girding honey-macerated apricot flavors, tangerine zest, and a slight bitter note of red grapefruit pith keeps everything honest. Going to have to find more of this, the most beguiling white wine I have had in a long, long time.

Two Months in Roma; 9/6/2022-10/28/2022 (Rome, Italy): From the wine list at Al Moro, Rome . We had the 2015 a month ago and loved it, but I did not care for this vintage nearly as much. Rich fruited, with acidity but also a bitter peach pit note on the finish that was a bit jarring for me.

Pale gold color. Alluring aromas bursting out of bottle. Ripe lime, pear, peach, quince, apricot, savoury yeast, stoney minerals, touch of honey mingling with toastiness.
It is medium to full body, rich on palate yet with sharp precision and mineral driven all the way. More complexities emerged: zesty juicy lemon, salty minerals, lees, bit of caramel too. Drinking very well now.

Beautiful gold straw colour, medium floral nose, with hints of peach and orange, with some lime now coming through. The wine is full and round, with apricots, tropical pineapple and lime marmalade, a lively acidity. This is all perfectly balanced and complex, with a long finish of some sweet apricots and a tingle of acidity. Absolutely delicious. Drank this over a year ago and this is starting to sing and develop more complexity with age. I bought this for £65 @fineandrarewines and it is expensive but as it is maturing you can see why, well worth seeking out to try and #giveanewwineago #burgundynick 93 points
