Primary aromatics of dark fruits/blackberry, minerals, pencil lead, green peppercorns, spearmint. Although the body is mostly primary development is now peaking through. This is full bodied with more red fruits than on the nose. but not deep and somewhat softer than most Corton at this age .. Merode house style here. Dusty tannins hang around a long finish with a very pleasant mouthfeel. I very much like this and it should develop beautifully for another five years.

Leo's Blind Tasting Group - Jan '12 edition (Montclair, NJ): Comes across very ripe with a roasted tinge to the dark fruited flavours. It still seems incredibly primary, not showing much beyond lots of youthful dark fruit and framing oak accents right now with fine grained tannin and moderate acidity underneath. Pleasant, though overshadowed by the Cortons on either side.
