Two top Felton Road Chardonnays: From a parcel of similarly aged Mendoza vines a little higher up the slope (elevation 280 - 300 metres above sea level), north facing. Under screwcap. A shade deeper lemon colour. The bouquet similar mineral, lemon citrus, pear, freshly baked bread and nectarine notes. The citrus less lime, more grapefruit and tangelo, with a touch of pineapple. Also some lees with more struck match than the Block 2, though still subtle. Similarly to the nose, the palate largely yellow citrus - lemon and grapefruit - with pears, some peach and hints of tropical fruit. Also a similar acid, mineral profile but a shade more generous and rich. Comparable depth, concentration and length to the Block 2. Excellent. More similar to, than different from, the Block 2, your choice may well be determined by palate preference for Chardonnay styles, rather than by anything qualitative.
