Italian Wine Scholar Class at the Texas Wine School. 100% Aglianico. Med (+) ruby with a garnet rim. Med (+) to intense black fruit, tar/asphalt, tobacco, hibiscus, oregano and other fresh herbs; some oak spice from one year of aging in barriques and tonneau. Developing. Dry, but fruit forward, with med to med (+) acidity, med (+) tannins and high alcohol (14.5%). Full-bodied, dense and rich without being ponderous, with med (+) flavor intensity and length. Benefits from some air. Drinking well now and for the next several years. An incredible value.

A very nice entry level aglianico that is starting to get some age on it, is currently in a very good drinking window and is a very good QPR wine. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Very dark purple, well structured and enough of a core left to last a few more years. Soft mouth feel, beginning to integrate well, medium long pleasant aftertaste, bold fruit forward nose of dark fruit and tar and on the palate dark cherry, plum, leather and tar. Definitely recommend this and as with most Italian wines this is definitely a food wine not a sipper - much better paired with duck and beef. A very nice gift from a thoughtful colleague.

Très tannique encore, sur le fruit noir.
Correct sans plus.

This is a very good expression of aglianico. Great wine - acidity is not overpowering.
