Method: tasted at the domaine (in the cellar) with Anselme; vintages '17, '16, and '15; disg. right in front of me on April 2024 right before consuming
Nose: light strawberry, faint nuts
Palate: strawberry cream, mint; long finish of nuts, minerality... waves of complexity; medium+ to full- vinous body; medium strength pinpoint bubbles; low+ strength fine tannins; medium acidity
Overall thoughts: This was handicapped by being disgorged a minute before I tasted it, and it still blew me away. A ton of complexity, both in terms of flavor and texture/structure. 94 - 95 points (and probably better once it has time to come together after disgorgement). Excellent wine!

Nose: white flowers, wild berries, red fruits, hints of rose Notes: 12.5% ABV, 1.33g dosage, disgorged in 2023 June, 94 % Chardonnay and 6% Pinot Noir. This again and again would be one of the top Rose Champagne in my mind. Oxidative in style this is highly complex and has an extremely smooth palate. The beauty of Selosse is that it can be oxidative and energetic at the same time. The nose is so floral and so delicious. The slightly sweet aftertaste is intoxicating and stunning. Disg 2009 base 2004 Complex scents of dried red berries and dried goji introduce a leaner champagne, with more tension compared to the disg 10, displaying airyness, great depth of flavor, perfect balance, with more minerality and ending in a long and chiselled finish.

Disg 2010 base 2003 Very complex scents of pomegranate, leather and cognac introduce a brilliant and spellbinding complex depth of flavors, mixing citrus, pastry, chalk and lees aromas in a perfect balance between chalky acids and sweetness, the whole experience being enhanced by ultra fine bubbles.

2018 Disgorgement is on fire tonight, intensely aromatic and simply unmistakable with its infinite layers of spiced red berry fruit, blood orange and chalky minerals that wrap around the palate, with singular texture, weight and density, giving way to a chiseled, vibrant and incredibly long finale. Just nothing like it.

(NV Jacques Selosse Rose) This really brought the funk. Um . . .Lopez Rose with bubbles? Yes . . .that type of funk. Really amazing nose but the palate was sort of a letdown. Some simple berry fruit with notes of hay and barnyard. Slightly candied. The nose was just amazing though. My least favorite wine of the night but major kudos to the aromatic complexity. I would like to try this again at some point. Probably not showing its best.
(NV Jacques Selosse Rose Brut) Very Burgundian. But red Burgundian. Nose of dried leaves, red berry fruits, intense cinnamon and lots of rocks and mineral. Very stony on the palate but has the sap and structure of a great red Burgundy. Clos de la Roche or Clos St. Denis. It had that bright profile due to its's great acidity but the fruits were of the dark red almost blue kind. Lots of grapey skin flavors on the finish. Amazingly persistent fruit. After it continued to open in tha glass the nose became much more open reminding me more of some red Morey St. Denis wine. Unique and delicious. Unlike any Champagne I have quite had.
