SangioFest, Volume III "It's my favourite spot" (Chicago, IL): Served double blind. Clearly a bit more intense and potent than its partner (which turned out to be the MSD villages version of the same wine). Riper and broad, but with a weight that made me think that this was in fact a 2018! Never mind the clean, crisp acidity -- it was that richness on the palate that led me to choose the riper vintage. Nevertheless a very impressive, delicious bottle of chardonnay.

Lunch at Sun Wah (Chicago, IL): In general, I think that Burgundy producers are good for one colour only, but my overall sense is that Dujac is starting to really get into the serious white game. I've been generally pretty impressed with the single vineyard white wines that I've tasted in the last few years. This bottle is still a little spritzy, but there's really good material here. It's obviously young, with some pretty primary white fruit and an interesting spicy component. The acidity isn't screaming, and really serves to balance everything out here.

2017 Whites and Reds from Domain Dujac (Dig Wines, San Francisco): Fantastic cut, apple and pear fruit, and beguiling spiciness. Medium weight and sappy. This may be the best vintage of this I've ever tasted.

Richly fruited, showing notes of green melon and preserved lemon. It is full and intense with good minerally line.
