Thoroughly red-fruited and very attractive on the nose with some floral notes but perhaps surprisingly earthy with a bit of oak spice. Very expressive and pretty. On the palate this has fantastic ripeish red fruit but the overall style is really savory and bright. There is some concentration but not a lot of weight and the acidity gives it a great lift. Superbly persistent on the balanced finish. With some bitterness to it, this nods a bit to Italy’s direction in its expression and similarly it drinks extremely well. A really lovely wine.

Another French Night at Hamburg (Nobbi Müller Burgunder& Süßweine, Hamburg): One glass, brief note: very good appearance, this village is demonstrating some typical Chambolle elements, silky texture, very lively and promising, long finish, *(**)-?
