Tasted at Lamont's Cottesloe wine shop at tasting hosted by John Jens. Appearance: Clear, medium ruby with just the slightest edge clouding and browning. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity with aromas of violet, graphite, blackberry, spice cake, and bell pepper. Palate: Dry, medium acid, medium+ tannin was tight grained and softened, medium+ body, medium+ intensity with developing flavors of blackberry, graphite, and herbs with a long, but subtle, finish.
Showing great balance and focus a lovely wine from a cool vintage, my favorite of a line-up of Diana Medeline's from 2017 - 2022. Drinking well today, likely better in 2-3 year and a decade beyond.

Definitely highlighting the cooler 2017 vintage with aromas of fern, laurel and red berries. On the palate you get tar and incense on top of the other aromas. Balanced, with polished tannins and a long finish. Enjoy now or cellar for 10-20+ years.

Simply I just wanted to have a great wine so I grabbed the 2017 without really thinking about it. So all I can say overall is the wine was elegant, restrained and excellent which almost seems stupid to say. It's got vibrant cassis intertwined with a layer of dustiness tannins, in a good way with oak that supports the palate well. In drinking this wine one of my guests suggested that he now knows where the Easter bunny had a fall and left its eggs as there was chocolate and vanilla with berries everywhere. A rich, mouth fulling palate with a generous mid-palate and a little splash of leafy, cinnamon and spice. One of my best wines this year and drunk way to young but its memorable.

Have not tasted any Cullen wines in some time. This was delicious. I accept it was a bit young but lovely fruit. Definitely some 'vegetal' flavours but this enhanced the overall mouth feel. Tannins were very soft. balanced wine.
