Tasted at winery in Margaret River. Appearance: Clear, medium-deep ruby. Nose: Clean, medium intensity with developing aromas of black cherry, cassis, cocoa, and florals - rose & violet. Palate: Dry, medium+ acid, medium+ tannin is youthful and grippy, medium+ body, medium intensity, 13.5% abv with developing flavors of slightly under-ripe dark fruit - cassis & black cherry, pencil lead, and bell pepper with a medium+ finish.
Quite youthful and tight today, but the potential is there for this to blossom with time - 5+ years. 92+

Fantastic visit to Cullen Wines, pure Biodynamic and Organic, these wines show a certain style, and I would go as far as saying are not typical for Margaret River and are more stylistic. I appreciated the tasting and understand why they have a large customer base, but personally I found their wines showed a little too much texture and lacked a little brightness. All of their wines showed to be shy initially, yet were driven with power.
Much better than the 2019, however still feels quite reserved and dialled back at this stage but potential is here, a lot more on the fruit, less saffron more dark black cassis, chocolate spicy notes, plenty of power on the mid-palate driving to the finish, feels more complete. 94+
