Getting even better with some age. This hit its stride after being open for 2 hours in bottle. Dark cherry, raspberry, boysenberry and the classic Rosella's vineyard orange rind come through clearly. Roasted meats, dried rose petals and some slight cocoa powder on the finish with sweet tannins. Great wine, especially considering the vintage challenges.

Coravin by the glass. Aromas of blackberry, blueberry, smoked meat and baking spice. Black and blue fruit, smoked meat, spice and fine tannins on the palate. Finishes with good length. Full bodied. Served with roast beef and smoked Gouda sandwiches.

1 hour slow ox. Nose: Spice and pan grille with earth and blackberries. Palate: Good richness buttressed by still good acid levels and soft, ample tannins. Flavors of blackberries, spice and the characteristic grapefruit minerals common in Rosellas Syrahs. Yet another great effort from Carlisle.
