Autumn dark evenings and in a weekday no wind is more cheering - full of proper SW France Malbec fruit no dusty old Cahors here but respectful of its terroir and no Argentinian jammy flavours.

This is uncommonly good for what it is: rustic French country wine. Mostly Malbec but the merlot softens the grapiness with soft tannins and cherry undertones. This is a great value and has the acid and structure to go a few years. This is a great wine for pasta and bbq and should be in your cellar for those times when you have “that friend” over who drinks wine but would not know if you served him black box or chateau Latour but you also want a nice glass with him!

Aromas of plum, date, milk chocolate, and graphite on the nose; tastes of plum, cassis, and violets on the palate; medium(+) body, medium acidity, medium tannins; medium length finish. Enough complexity on the nose and texture to make this a great QPR buy.

Pleasant, good value Malbec (85% with 15% Merlot) with raspberry, dark plum, cocoa and pencil lead notes on a firm spine. Good focus and energy here, and quite food friendly to boot.
