  • Again, one of those bottles I probably should have held onto for a few more years. Still a beautiful Barossa shiraz that leans a bit more red fruit & slightly lighter in body than most. Coconut, vanilla, cedar & anise show plentifully.

Silky mouthfeel, such a smooth wine. Classical Barossa flavour profile, tannins are fine & it finishes long. 30 months in American & French oak, the sweet American oak profile is prominent.

Needs another 5 years to shine properly, but drinking lovely now.

  • Full bodied with unashamedly brash tannins, the plum and blackberry fruit forward style was powerful and unrestrained.

Lacked the subtle complex layers which I was craving for, in a mid range Aussie shiraz. The finish was pleasant and oak well integrated, and of a medium length.

A RP96 rated Wine, perhaps Monsieur Parker was a wee bit generous?

I read later that this wine should be better with 10 years bottle aging, so I guess we were at least 4 years early.. perhaps can revisit then!

Vines are over 120 years old, and fermented with skins-on for 8 days, followed by 30 months maturing in French and American oak barrels.

Enjoyed at Tang Room over a timsum lunch to celebrate Jins birthday and YSLs visit to KL!Thanks to bro TC for the Napa and Aussie finales to our boozy afternoon..

  • Hasn't fully hit it's stride but a magnificently textured and hedonistic wine, better than many wines that are a multiple of the price. Better in 10 years, the hint of soapyness will dissipate

  • Served by the glass. Aromas of black cherries and tar. Little definition on the palate and instead a lot of structure, a lot of wood and a lot of concentration that need to balance these elements with the consequent acidity, fruit and texture. It does not succeed in my humble vision. There is no elegance and on the contrary, I detect overextraction. Typical? Maybe but I do not know who might be interested in this, sincerely.

  • Little bit of love hate here - a little more the latter. Had a certain style and quality but for me overextracted and even a little porty. Tasted like an older wine. Sweet plummy and blackberry with fruit cake spices - there was some sense of structure holding it together but the aftertaste was a little stewed.
