Huh, I was expecting this to be a mess and was very pleasantly surprised. Nice nose with loads of balsamic glazed cherry, black tea, and a touch of herbal. On the palate, good acidity, loads of crushed mulberry and dry red earth. A touch of tannin on the still slightly drying finish. Not spectacular, but a very nice aged brunello.

Should've been drunk a decade ago, as it's barely holding together. Still of interest, though. Balsamic, soy-glazed cherry fruit backed by just enough acidity to offset the sweetness of the fruit. Tarry, nutty, mushroomy finish.

Either poorly stored or so far past its prime. Not drinkable.

Well developed , tarry smoky savory stewed beef cheeks in cherry tea sauce. Holding up nicely with sweet fruits and meats with touch of ferrous blood.
