Ripe dark berry fruit with American oak + flavors, acid minus. Tannins ripe and still grippy and noticeable. Full bodied. Solid wine, but flavors not focused. Medium to long length. Somehow I was expecting more.

Deep red. Sweet cherries, smoke, and vanilla can all be found on the nose of the 2004 Malleolus. It is thick in the mouth, with fruit-forward overripe cherries, torrefaction and spices in abundance. It finishes fairly long, yet it seems low in acidity and the overall sensation here the wine is somewhat imbalanced. These should be consumed soon, as I doubt that additional cellaring will be beneficial here. This was better a few years ago. 85.

Developed nose with ripe and somewhat sweet dark berries, some barnyard and animal notes, hints of leather, and a bit of vanilla. Medium+ body, ripe dark berries, good acidity, spice notes, and still rather noticeable tannins. Rather good balance, but definitely a modern Spaniard in style. Drinks well now, could probably develop for another couple of years. 90 p.

Sorry - didn't take notes but I do remember that it did not impress me much, especially for the price.

Average wine. Fruity nose but. This wine will hit your taste buts but than flavors go away way too fast.
