  • I know it's too young, but I wanted to try something after the original winemaker died. Highly perfumed. Very savory. Some background cherry, but at the forefront is forest floor and smoked meat. Medium-bodied, but full-flavored, layered with a long finish. A bit tannic. A very nice pinot.

  • Blind I would've guessed Burgundy. Will be even better with additional bottle age.

  • Over two days.

Tremendous bouquet, showcasing the elegance of variety in unique terroir. Bright and crunchy red berry notes throughout, and yet this wine delivers incredible substance. Likely to play in a blind flight of Côte de Nuits offerings. Far from its peak but strikingly appealing now.

  • Opened up next to a edmond Cornu ladoix 1er cru…
First night really apparent difference between the 2 in favor of the French…(to my palate anyway)…
Second night whoa….hold the phone…wife and I both missed the blind tasting…(albeit it was at refrigerated temp)…but what a difference the day made…earthier, more savory, well balanced… I would say very equivalent to the French ladoix….

  • Opened 2hrs prior to dinner & simply slow-oxed in Reidel Burgs & btl the rest of the way. Semi translucent ruby red. Terrific aromatics of sweet berries, spice box & hints of forest floor. Palate is mid weight, lifted and vineyard fresh with dark raspberry, maraschino cherry, more spice and some lovely forest floor notes. Mouthfeel is vibrant with a persistent finish. 93+ Going back for more! Drinking very well now but should be great for midterm too. A very modest 13% alc Yea!
