Texier and Hill at Red and White (Chicago, IL): I found this one a little challenging -- the ripe vintage and the low acidity don't make a good match, and this showed a lot of ripe stone fruit flavours as well as the attendant phenolics of roussanne without enough freshness for my taste.

Pale gold. Took a little while to open out. Really nice, very fresh and lovely bright acidity. Pear and green melon. Some white peach. Very clean, decent length. Slight prickle of coder there in the background. Very decent drop.

My third note on Texier's Brezeme Roussanne. 2014, meagre and disappointing, 2015 better and interesting. This whilst too young is back at the meagre and disappointing end of the spectrum. A reinforcement for me that California is the place for 100% Roussanne wines rather than the spititual home of the Rhone.

No detailed note - drank at The Marksman gastropub. Lovely fresh, creamy wine, with enough minerality to match oysters and enough body to cope with cheese dumplings. Very tasty indeed.
